THS Isotope won the first prize in the final of the 13th China Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition Disruptive Technology Innovation Competition

On November 27, 2024, the final of the 13th China Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition Disruptive Technology Innovation Competition was successfully concluded in Hangzhou. The competition focused on cutting-edge global technologies and attracted 169 high-quality projects with disruptive potential to compete on the same stage. THS Isotope won the finals award (the highest award) with "Key Technology for Industrialization of High-Abundance Silicon-28 Electronic Special Gas for Quantum Chips". This honor demonstrates the strong strength of THS  Isotope in the field of key core technologies and injects strong impetus into promoting the industrialization of quantum chip materials in my country.

This national-level competition is hosted by the Torch High-tech Industry Development Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. It aims to fully implement the spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee and implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's important exposition on the development of new quality productivity. "We must strengthen scientific and technological innovation, especially original and disruptive scientific and technological innovation, accelerate the realization of high-level scientific and technological self-reliance, and fight the key core technology battle, so that original and disruptive scientific and technological innovation results will emerge, and cultivate new momentum for the development of new quality productivity." Since its launch in August 2024, the competition has attracted more than a thousand technical projects from key universities, well-known research institutes, industry leading enterprises and other units across the country to compete in the six major tracks of "future manufacturing, future information, future materials, future energy, future space, and future health". THS Isotope stood out from 123 projects in the future materials field competition held in Dalian on November 15 and won the first prize, and then won the highest award of the finals. General Secretary Xi Jinping emphasized: The development of quantum technology has great scientific significance and strategic value. It is a major disruptive technological innovation that impacts and reconstructs the traditional technology system, and will lead the direction of a new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation. We must accelerate breakthroughs in basic research and tackle key core technologies. The development of quantum science and technology depends on breakthroughs in basic theoretical research, and the formation of disruptive technologies is a process of accumulation and development. We must increase the research on key core technologies and achieve a batch of high-level original results in the field of quantum science and technology.

On September 5, 2024, the U.S. Department of Commerce tightened export controls on quantum computing, advanced semiconductor manufacturing, GAAFET and other related technologies on the grounds of multilateral national security, including the ban on the sale of products and production technologies such as high-abundance silicon isotopes to China and other countries. This move further highlights the urgency of silicon-28 as a strategically needed stable isotope.

Studies have shown that for every order of magnitude increase in the abundance of silicon-28 in chips, its superposition quantum coherence time (referring to the time a quantum bit maintains its quantum properties) can be increased tenfold, thereby greatly improving the accuracy and reliability of quantum computing. THS Isotope will take this award as a starting point, aiming at the core material of silicon-based quantum chips, "high-abundance silicon-28 electronic special gas", and develop a low-cost continuous production process to support the development of my country's silicon-based quantum chip industry, release huge economic and social benefits, and strategically support national information security; adopt chemical exchange distillation technology, aiming at international leading indicators, and help build my country's stable isotope technology research and development and industrialization system.
